Leading Like Jesus

Leadership

Practical, Biblical principles for leading with integrity, serving with purpose, and influencing your generation for Christ

Leadership is not a title – it is a calling. The YCLA Leadership program equips young believers with practical skills and Biblical wisdom to lead in every environment they enter: school, work, church, community, and home. Rooted in the example of Jesus, this track develops leaders who serve first, lead with integrity, and influence their generation for eternal impact.

"Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."

MARK 10:43-45

Christian Leadership

Eight Pillars of Biblical Leadership

This course examines eight essential dimensions of Christian leadership, each grounded in Scripture and illustrated through the lives of Biblical leaders. Students develop practical skills alongside theological conviction – learning not just what a leader does, but who a leader is.

The goal is to produce leaders who don’t just occupy positions of influence but transform the people and environments around them through Christ-centered service, integrity, and courage.

THE EIGHT PILLARS

Pillar 1

SERVANT LEADERSHIP

Leading by Serving First

Jesus redefined leadership by washing feet. This module explores servant leadership as the foundation of all Christian influence – putting others first, leading from humility, and finding greatness through service.

HUMILITY

Pillar 2

INTEGRITY

Character When No One Is Watching

Integrity is the bedrock of trust. Students examine what it means to be the same person in public and in private, how to build an unshakable moral foundation, and why character always outweighs charisma

Character

Pillar 3

VISION

Seeing What Others Cannot

Every great leader sees a future worth building. This module teaches students how to discern God’s vision for their lives, cast vision to others, and inspire action toward a shared purpose greater than themselves

Direction

Pillar 4

COMMUNICATION

Speaking Truth with Clarity & Love

Leaders must communicate clearly, persuasively, and compassionately. From public speaking to difficult conversations, students develop the skills to share ideas, resolve conflict, and inspire others with words that matter.

Influence

Pillar 5

COURAGE

Standing Firm Under Pressure

Christian leadership requires courage – the willingness to stand for truth when it’s unpopular, make hard decisions under pressure, and trust God when the path forward is unclear. This module builds the backbone every leader needs.

Boldness

Pillar 6

Stewardship

Managing What God Has Entrusted

Everything we have belongs to God. Students learn to steward their time, talents, resources, and influence with faithfulness and wisdom – understanding that leadership is ultimately accountability to God.

Responsibility

Pillar 7

Team Building

Multiplying Your Impact

No leader succeeds alone. This module teaches students how to build, empower, and lead teams – identifying strengths in others, delegating with trust, and creating a culture where people thrive and the mission advances.

Collaboration

Pillar 8

LEGACY

Leading for Eternity

The ultimate measure of leadership is what happens after you leave. Students explore what it means to invest in the next generation, build something that lasts, and lead with an eternal perspective that transforms everything.
